MY JOURNEY

WHO AM I?

I am Ana Valero-Collantes, a passionate and dedicated leader in fencing, with over 13 years of experience promoting the sport both nationally and internationally. As Vice President of the Swedish Fencing Federation, I have played a crucial role in fostering youth engagement, organizing major events such as the Stockholm Grand Prix Épée, and enhancing the visibility of fencing through social media strategies.

My commitment as an FIE-certified épée referee since 2011 highlights my expertise and dedication to fairness, and my role on the executive committee of the European Fencing Confederation has given me the opportunity to influence the future of fencing on a broader scale.

Fencing has also been a key part of my personal journey, helping me build a stronger bond with my daughters and integrate into Swedish society as an immigrant. Professionally, I work as a civil servant and recruitment officer at the Swedish Public Employment Service, and my language skills in Swedish, Spanish, English, and basic French allow me to connect with diverse communities.

My candidacy for FIE executive committee(COMEX) is driven by a vision of unity, growth, and fair play in fencing. I aim to support emerging federations, promote international collaboration, and improve global accessibility to the sport through innovative digital platforms. I am a strong advocate for transparency and integrity, and my leadership seeks to create an inclusive and thriving fencing community that honors tradition while embracing new opportunities.

In short, I am a dynamic and dedicated leader, committed to driving fencing forward through values-based leadership, effective communication, and a focus on universality and fairness.
